Pain torments you, a burning substance nests inside your lungs. Artificial shrill sounds are dullly perceptible in the distance. This unknown place awakens fear and despair but these are not the only feelings that fight for dominance in your head: An insatiable hunger emerges, craving to be satisfied. It's time to leave this place.

Popularly known as the procurement of artificial meat, the Cibous Project is considered a sham experiment with the aim of producing meat by implanting various catalysts into living organisms to accelerate cell growth. These organisms are kept in containers filled with a solution consisting of oxygen and electrolysis among other things, while being intubated to ensure the best possible oxygen supply.

In this process, tumour tissues grow until the organism carries up to 20 times the original amount of flesh. The outer layer of skin turns black during this process. In addition to humans, various animals, including reptiles and predators, are used as such organisms. It is common practice to swap cell tissue between the specimens.

Although the flesh-bearing organisms are meant to stay in an anesthetized state, few specimens experienced an awakening and showed strong hunger for meat. After a short time being outside their container, these organisms began to lose parts of their bodies as melting flesh, dripping to the ground. This state is called Carnity.

Originally designed as a weapon against human hunger, the player character develops a self-perception and breaks the anaesthesia. With an original human body that has been mixed with various genes from other predators, the player manages to break out of their prison and acts as a weapon against their own tormentors, while still keeping a flint of humanity: violence is not a must.

Unfortunately, due to lack of time, we were unable to add subtitles for the audio logs. Here you can find an overview of these:

LOG1:
Day 48, Entry 3 - Professor Silding,
Although the flesh-bearing organisms are meant to stay in an anesthetized state, few specimens experienced an awakening and showed strong hunger for meat. We have realized that our experiments on living organisms are in danger of failing; After a short time being outside their container, these organisms begin to lose parts of their bodies as melting flesh, dripping to the ground. This state is called Carnity. Professor Hermington suggested to further investigate this phenomenon.

LOG 2:
Day 55, Entry 1 - Professor Hermington
For days now we have been trying to limit the degeneration of Carnity classified subjects. We need to get rid of all corrupted organisms. Subject 81c exhibits unusual self-awareness and elevated blood pressure without signs of cardiac arrhythmia. Tomorrow we will start with the sedation and examine the body more closely.

I like it, haven't eaten any scientist but I like the spooky vibes <3

Sadly it doesn't start on browser. After the titles and the music starts it says "Webgl context lost". Tried to reload it multiple times, but nothing!

Thanks for the feedback, that’s quite strange. It works fine on our machines. Please try the download version, or try it with another browser. :)
